Frequently asked questions

1. What is a solar carport system?

A solar carport is a steel structure carport integrating parking, sun and rain protection, and photovoltaic power generation, along with a solar module system. It can be used for self-consumption or connected to the grid.

 2. What materials are used for the solar carport support structure?

We typically use two materials for solar carports: zinc-aluminum-magnesium S350GD ZAM275 and Q355B + hot-dip galvanized steel.

3. What is the required floor space for a solar (PV) carport?

Our one-way, 2-car carport requires 5.9m x 6.8m.

4-car parking spaces requires 11.5m x 6.8m.

6-car parking spaces requires 16m x 6.8m.

8-car parking spaces requires 21.8m x 6.8m.

4. What are the wind load, snow pressure, and installation angle requirements for the solar carport?

Our solar carports come in two models: one for snow-free conditions and one for snow-covered conditions.

The snow-free model has wind load capacities of 40 m/s and 50 m/s, with an installation angle of 5 degrees.

The snow-covered model has wind load capacities of 25 m/s and snow pressure capacities of 0.6 KN, and 40 m/s and snow pressure capacities of 1.5 KN. The installation angle is 5 degrees.

5. What are the components of a photovoltaic carport?

 1. solar carport structure 2. solar panels 3. Inverter 4. Cables 5. Distribution cabinet 6. MC4 connector

6. How many solar panels are needed for a solar-powered carport?

2-carport carport requires 15 solar panels, each measuring 1134x2278 mm (595W).

4-carport carport requires 30 solar panels, each measuring 1134x2278 mm (595W).

6-carport carport requires 42 solar panels, each measuring 1134x2278 mm (595W).

8-carport carport requires 57 solar panels, each measuring 1134x2278 mm (595W).

7. How many watts of inverter are needed for a solar-powered carport?

Taking a 595W solar panel as an example, a 2-car solar-powered carport requires at least a 9kW inverter.

4-car solar-powered carport requires at least an 18kW inverter.

6-car solar-powered carport requires at least a 27kW inverter.

8-car solar-powered carport requires at least a 36kW inverter.

8.How much electricity can a 7-car solar-powered carport generate in a year?

It depends on the sunlight conditions and duration. Solar conditions and duration vary by region.

Australia's average daily sunshine duration is 7-8 hours. North America's average daily sunshine duration is 3-6 hours. Europe's average daily sunshine duration is 4-6 hours. Southeast Asia's average daily sunshine duration is 6-8 hours.

The following is for reference only:

2-car parking spaces with 9kW generates approximately 27-48 kWh of electricity per day in 6 hours.

4-car parking spaces with 18kW generates approximately 53-98 kWh of electricity per day in 6 hours.

6-car parking spaces with 27kW generates approximately 80-145 kWh of electricity per day in 6 hours.

8-car parking spaces with 36kW generates approximately 106-195 kWh of electricity per day in 6 hours.
